BJP leader injured in stabbing at Rahimpur

A minority leader of the BJP was injured with a knife over the Center's dispute over the distribution of temporary Shop in Baisakhi fair ground at Rahimpur under Boxanagar assembly constituency. The name of the injured youth is Khorshed Alam. He is known as the booth president of BJP. On Saturday morning, a local businessman Shahjahan Mia, objected to set up another shop in front of his permanent market shop during the Baisakhi fair.

Allegedly, a group led by BJP leader Khorshed Mia entered Shahjahan Mia's shop and started beating Shahjahan Mia. Shahjahan Mia tried to resist with a knife to cut a watermelon inside the shop and the sharp knife hit Khorshed Alam's body. Shahjahan Mia himself was injured by the same knife. Incidentally, Khorshed Alam is a retrenchment teacher of 10323. Once he was known as a youth leader of CPIM. He left the CPIM party and joined the BJP some time ago.

This incident caused great excitement among the people present. Some people beat Shahjan Mia severely. His shop was ransacked. On receiving the information, the police of Kalamchoura Police Station went to the spot and rescued the injured and sent him to the hospital. Besides, the accused Shajahan Mia was arrested and taken to the hospital under police custody. It is reported that Khorshed Alam has been taken to Agartala ILS Hospital.
