Fight for 42 seats of West Bengal, twenty five state leaders of BJP leave for West Bengal to bolster campaign

Hot on the scent of a possible outstanding performance in scam and violence ridden West Bengal in the Loksabha elections , the BJP seems to be leaving nothing to chance. The party is firing at the corrupt Trinamool citadel with all guns blazing as evident from the requisition of as many as twenty five party leaders of Tripura including state president Rajeev Bhattacharjee, minister Sudhangshu Das and others who have gone to different parts of West Bengal for campaign for party candidates.

The state BJP president Rajeev Bhattacharjee has said that he will intensively campaign including participation in door-to-door programme in favour of Priya Saha who is the candidate for the prestigious Bolpur LS constituency in West Bengal’s Birbhum district. Besides, the minister for animal resource development Sudhangshu Das has also been campaigning for BJP candidate for the Dumdum Loksabha seat as well as the party candidate for the Baranagar assembly by-poll Sajal Ghosh. Former minister and sitting MLA Bhagwan Chandra Das has also been campaigning for the party candidate Locket Chatterjee in Hooghly Loksabha seat.Apart from this , minister Tinku Roy and chief whip of the assembly Kalyani Roy Saha have also been campaigning hard in West Bengal. To top all this , chief minister Dr Manik Saha will also be campaigning hard for the polls in different remaining phases.

Sources here said that the BJP has specially targeted West Bengal this time after the major chinks in the political and organizational armour of Trinamool has emerged following the exposure of massive scams in all respects as well as complete lawlessness and electoral malpractices in West Bengal. The prime minister Narendra Modi’s set target of 370 or more seats for BJP is based on the assumption that the party will retain its 303 seats won in 2019 and will bag at least 72 more seats wherein the party had come second by narrow margins . This requires shining performance for the party in West Bengal ,Orissa and South India. In West Bengal the BJP has already scented an extraordinary performance this time.
