Kidney Transplantation, delegates from Imphal-based Shija Hospital visit state, meet Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha

A team of experts and officials of the Imphal-based Shija Hospitals and Research Institute visited Agartala on Saturday to see the facilities available to set up the Kidney Transplantation Unit in the Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital. It is one more step towards setting up the unit CHIEF Minister Dr Manik Saha announced on May 2 after visiting the hospital.

Official sources said the Shija team visited the state for an on-the-spot study of the facilities already available and the additional steps needed. The delegation members accompanied by state officials also met Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and discussed all the pros and cons of the move. Chief Minister reportedly told the delegates to take appropriate steps to fully equip the Urological Surgery Unit at the earliest.

Earlier a team of doctors and paramedical staff had visited the Shija Hospital in Imphal to get an on-the-spot experience of the whole thing.
