Supply of defective blood testing machines by Gujrat based company yield faulty reading in 69 hospitals of the state

In a massive scam involving a dubious company from Gujrat which secured work by paying their way through to powerful elements in Centre, altogether 69 hospitals and health centres in the state have been supplied with highly defective blood testing machines . This has resulted in yielding of defective blood testing reports everywhere. Sources in the health department said that when the machines had been supplied four years ago , senior officials of the department had taken serious objection to this as they realized that the machines were defective. The officials also show-caused the proprietor the dubious company but the show-cause notice still lies in the cold storage because the owner is close to the high-ups of BJP in Centre.

Even the chief minister Dr Manik Saha who also hold the health portfolio is perhaps unaware of the disaster that been caused to the state by the dubious Gajrat-based company. This company grabbed a total amount of Rs 3.17 crores for the supply of the dubious materials at the rate of Rs 4.60 per machine. But in spite of the defective reading given by the machines there is no action so far taken by the state government even though the people continue to suffer.
