First multiplex ready to be inaugurated before Puja

Agartala, Oct 06, 2012 : Frst shopping mall and multiplex of the state M L Plaza will be inaugurated on October 18 next, just three days before the ensuing festivities of Durga Puja.

The ML plaza complex has come up in the old premises of Rupasi cinema hall here at Netaji Choumohani area of the capital city Agartala.

During an interaction media persons, Ratan Saha, the owner of plaza said, the multiplex will have modern cine areas - with all digital features. The cine- complex will have four giant screens with finest facilities including a separate hall 3D movies, modern sound and projection system. The multiplex would have 1400 seats.

Speaking with tripurainfo.com, Saha said “decades ago Agartala had four cinema halls including Rupasi, Suryaghar, Rupchhaya and Chitrakata".

The Rupasi cinema hall had been demolished in order to make the infrastructures for a modern multiplex and shopping mall, said Saha adding that the other three cinema halls have since changed hands and the new owners started other business and or sold their land to others.

"We are running Ajanta Cinema hall successfully at Behala for last 35 years and recently has given a new dimension to Ajanta Cinema by converting it into two screen Multiplex Cinema hall and bar cum restaurant".

“Soon my dream to provide Tripura people a modern multiplex for latest movie experience will be fulfilled’, he added.

‘Our multiplex will commercially start its operation during puja days with latest movie", said Saha.

He also said movie lovers can also book their tickets through online with reasonable prices.

Saha added that every day each hall will screen four shows from morning. After puja days Big Bazar will start their commercial operation.
