| ACHIEVEMENT OF TRIPURA RENEWABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (TREDA) DURING LAST FOUR YEARS |

| 1.CREATION OF TREDA : |

| Tripura
Renewable Energy Development Agency was set up by the State Govt. in the year 1997
in order to implement Non Conventional
Energy programme in the State of Tripura. It
is the State Nodal Agency for Renewable Energy Programme.Govt. of
India is
providing financial assistance for setting
this agency. This was made fully functional in 1999.

2.KSHETRICHHERA BIO MASS POWER PLANT :
 With the financial assistance of Govt. Of India one 4 x 250 kw Biomass power Plant is going to be formally commissioned in march ,2002.This is the Country’s Biggest Biomass Gassifier
Power Plant .This is being set up primarily for electrification

| of some remote villages in the Chawmanu areas. Besides meeting the requirement of power for village electrification , surplus power, if any,may be fed to the existing grid of the Power Deptt. for earning revenue and also for improving the
reliability of power supply system in Chawmanu area.Forest Deptt. will supply
the woody Biomass for the above Power plant. The plant will be runned by Chawmanu Rural
Energy Co-Operative Society Ltd.It
will utilize biomass & diesel in the ratio of 70:30 at full load. It will be
in operation during the peak period for 5 – 6 hours everyday

| 3.ADITYA SHOP :
|
| Aditya Solar
Shop was set up in the Umakanta Academy Sports Complex ,Agartala on
18/12/99.The Solar Shop was setup for displaying different NRSE gadgets and also
to supply the related information to the people for popularization of Renewable
Energy Technology. Besides this the Solar Shop is also taking care of servicing
of different gadgets.The shop was established with the financial assistance of
the MNES, Govt of India.The shop remains open from 12 to 7 pm on all working days.

| 4.MOBILE EXHIBITION VAN :
|
| In
order to organize demonstration programme on the different Non Conventional
Energy Programme one Mobile Exhibition Van was procured by the Agency .Various
gadgets are installed on the van and it is being taken to
different locations for demonstration during some festivals/melas.

| 5.RURAL RENEWABLE ENERGY COMPLEX KALACHHARA
|
| One RRE Complex was set up at Kalachhara,Subroom for display and demonstration of different Non Conventional Energy System.The Complex was setup with partial financial assistance from NEC.This complex was formally inaugurated on 22/03/00. One Community Hall was also setup in the complex for organizing Training/Seminar/Workshop
etc.

6.RENEWABLE ENERGY EDUCATION PARK :
|

During the last four(4) years eight (8) nos Renewable Enegry Education Parks were
setup in different parts of the state with the financial assistance of MNES,Govt.of India .These are :

1)Ramkrishna Misson,Viveknagar,P.O-Amtali, West Tripura.
2)Kamalpur H.S. School,Kamalpur,Dhalai District, Tripura.
3)Nagar Panchayat ,Sonamura,West Tripura
4)Gardang Higher Secondary School,Sabroom,South Tripura.
5)Gachirampara High School, Kanchanpur,North Tripura.
6)Tulashikhar High School,Khowai,west Tripura.
7)New Evenzer School,Sabroom,South Tripura.
8)Tripura Sports School,Badharghat,Agartala,West Tripura

The objectives of setting up such parks is to educate the student on the application & usefulness of Non Conventional Energy Technology.

| 7.ACHIEVEMENT DURING LAST FOUR YEARS:
|
| TREDA begged first prize in implementation of Biogas Development Programme in the State of Tripura during 1999-2000.It has also begged Second Prize of National Programme on Improved Chullha in the same year.The Achievement of TREDA during the last four years for implementation of different programme is furnished below:-
