ELECTORAL CODE OF CONDUCT
a) No
candidate shall indulge in personal slander and vilification
campaign in writing or in speech against rival/rivals while
conducting campaign for the election.
b) No
candidate shall open any office, tent or reception center within
premises of Press Club as part of carrying on campaign for election
to the Managing Committee of Agartala Press Club.
No
candidate shall offer any gift or other material inducements to
members/voters for election to the Managing Committee of Agartala
Press Club as part of his campaign for the same.
No
candidate shall use any facilities made available to bonafide
members of the club for the purpose of personal or collective
campaign for election to the managing Committee.
No
Candidate shall resort to postering, using placards bearing his/her
name of using microphones for conduction his/her campaign within the
club premises or outside it.
The
presence of any voter of candidate within polling centre is
completely barred and no candidate or voter shall remain within
Polling centre after casting ballots and shall wait at least twenty
five yards away from it. However, the Returning Officer may call in
a voter or candidate within the Polling Centre to sort out a point
at issue if needed.
Any
candidate found to have acted in violation of the Code of Conduct
cited above shall be liable to disqualification by the Returning
Officer nominated by the outgoing Managing Committee in advance and
his decision shall be final and binding.
All
members desirous of filling complaint regarding violation of the
Code of Conduct shall do the same with concrete evidence to the
outgoing Secretary of the Club who, in turn, shall place all
material including the letter of complaint at the earliest to the
Returning Officer for his consideration and final decision.
