THE AGARTALA PRESS CLUB RULES AND
REGULATIONS
MEMORANDUM OF ASSOCIATION
AGARTALAPRESS CLUB
AGARTALA
Registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (No. XXI of
1960).
The
name of the Society shall be “The Agartala Press Club”.
The
Registered Office of the Agartala Press Club shall be at Agartala.
The
objects of the club are :-
to
promote, safeguard and defend the professional interests, welfare
and status of the members of the profession (Journalism).
To
create and propagate a friendly feeling among the journalists,
reporters and correspondents working in and around Agartala and to
cultivate or secure inform and advanced journalistic knowledge for
the furtherance of their common interest and for the benefit and
protection of the furtherance of their common interest and for the
benefit and protection of profession of Journalism and to do all
such things as are incidental or conductive to the attainment of the
above objects;
To
take such appropriate action as may be required from time to time
and/or make representations to State and Central Governments or
subsidiary agencies as well as to other public and private bodies on
any matter affecting the media in general;
To
provide recreation, reference and such other facilities connected
with journalism to the members;
To
organise seminars, debates, discussions, constructive cultural
programmes as well as to take such other steps as may be required in
the interest of the members of Agartala Press Club as also in the
greater interest of the press community.
Notwithstanding anything contained in the afore-mentioned provisions
Agartala Press Club or inter aila it’s elected Managing Committee
shall not normally engage in any trade union activity or act as
adjudicators in any dispute whatsoever between Journalists/Reporters
and Editors/Proprietors on the one hand and between Editors
/Proprietors and State Government on the other in respect of
financial matters.
The
Club is not for making any Profit. The funds of the Club shall be
untilised solely for the promotion of its objects and the funds of
the Club shall not be spent for paying dividends remuneration to
members. This shall not apply to reimbursement of actual expenses
incurred by the Office-Bearers in rendiring or promoting services to
the club.
