It has been revealed from a report that a research conducted by Ban galore university    by a group under Prof. M S Reddy had proved   that sunflower plants pollinated by Bees has yielded about 2 times of sunflower seeds in comparison to the yield by plants not pollinated.  Dr Reddy has called upon the Governments to encourage apiculture cultivation in dry land regions as experts recommended.  Where there is cultivation of SUNFLOWER there are more concentrations of Bees.  Bees attract sunflowers more than any flower.  The only problem is the maintenance of the bee colonies, which are risky because of bee- stings, but this can be overcome by effective training to bee farmers to ensure that it turns out to a small business without much maintenance costs The farmers have to learn precisely to harvest the bee colony by collecting -- filtering the honey. –applying  heat so as to kill the yeast, and then bottling this small business does not require the strains of   business of either poultry or other animal husbandry.  There is high demand of honey for exports for European and Gulf and other Asian countries. State Agriculture departments should explore this for the benefit of the farmers and the state.
