In
order to propagate alternative building technology in the State of
Tripura, NBIRT set up West Tripura Building Centre at “Arka-Neer”
in association with HUDCO. The main objective of the building
centre is to propagate alternative building material and technology in
the State of Tripura with special reference to the rural areas. The
Institute has different types of machineries like Mud-block making
machines, MCR Tiles making machines, Vibrator, bamboo treatment machine
and machineries related to production of fiber glass items and ferro
cement based items. West Tripura Building Centre has already constructed
a large number of buildings under private and public sector based on
alternative building technology. TheBuilding Centre has qualified engineers and Masons for
construction of buildings based on alternative technology. In order to
construct building based on alternative materials, West Tripura Building
Centre may be conducted. The building centre also organized training
programme for Masons and Engineers on production of various alternative
building materials.
