There is no doubt about Tripura's antiquity, reference to the existence of Tripura can be found even in the pre-historical period. Acharya Dinesh Chandra Sen said, "among the all royal dynasties found in India today, Tripura's is the most ancient one. No other dynasty has a chronology of 184 predecessors".
