Agartala-Udaipur train service to commence from January 20

Agartala, Jan 11, 2017 : The long-awaited extended train service between Udaipur, headquarter of Gomati district, and state capital Agartala is scheduled to commence from January 20. This information was given to state BJP president Biplab Kuamr Deb by a senior official of NF railway Ratan Kumar . While disclosing to media persons at Kumarghat in north Tripura where he is currently camped Biplab Deb said that he had been informed of the matter by Ratan Kumar, a high official of NF railway. 'On that day railway minister Suresh Pravakar Pravu will be at Darjeeling in north Bengal and he will inaugurate the 55 kms broad-gauge railways service between Udaipur and Agartala by teleconferencing' said Biplab. He termed this as a new year gift to the people of Tripura by the central NDA government led by Narendra Modi. He added that he would take up the issue of stalled Agartala-Akhaura railway connectivity with the railway ministry soon . The fifteen kms Agartala-Akhaura railway connectivity between Tripura and Bangladesh has remained stalled because of land acquisition problems.
