Monitoring & Reporting (1)
The State Information Commission will prepare an annual report
on implementation of the Act and send a copy of the annual report
to the State Government. Each year the State Government will cause a copy of the annual report to be laid before the State
Legislature [Sec. 25(1) and
25(4) ]. (2)
Necessary information for preparation of the annual report have to be
provided by Every Department/ Public Authority/ Public Information
Officer. So, they have to
prepare an annual report on implementation of the Act and
forward a copy thereof to
the State Government. [Section –25(2) ]. (3)
The annual report shall include the following
information :- (i)
The number of requests made to each Public Authority. (ii)
Number of decisions refusing to allow access to the documents
and the provisions of
the Act under which
these decisions were taken. (iii)
Number of appeals referred to the State Information Commission,
the nature of the appeals and
the outcome of the appeals. (iv)
Particulars of disciplinary action taken against any officer in
respect of the administration of the Act . (v)
The amount of charges collected under the Act . (vi)
Facts which indicate efforts made
by the Public Authorities to administer and implement
the spirit and
intention of the Act. . (vii)
Recommendations made for reform, including recommendations in respect of the
particular Public Authorities, for development,
improvement, modernization, reform or amendment to the Act or other
legislation or common law or
any other matter relevant for operational
izing the right to access
information;[Section -25(3)]. |
