Tripurainfo Mega Quiz 2025 Celebrates 20 Years of Knowledge and Community Spirit at Rabindra Bhawan

The Rabindra Bhawan auditorium came alive on Sunday ( 9/11/25) morning as hundreds of students, teachers, parents, and quiz enthusiasts gathered for the Tripurainfo Mega Quiz 2025, marking the 20th edition of one of Tripura’s most anticipated annual intellectual events. Organized by Tripurainfo.com, the well-known news and information portal, the Mega Quiz has grown over the years into a vibrant celebration of curiosity, learning, and community engagement.

A Dynamic Team of Quiz Masters

The quiz masters led the event, each bringing a distinct style that shaped the rhythm and experience of the competition. I know Nandu Panikar not only as an officer—who received the Best Gazetted Officer of the State of Tripura award under the Hon’ble Chief Minister—and his wife, Madam Gita, a professor at a Government College who also received the “Best Teacher” award. His father was Principal of MBB College. What Nandu does, he does very seriously. I have seen him prepare for quizzes for months together over the last 16 years. His rounds were known for well-crafted twists that tested not only knowledge but also presence of mind, teamwork, and analytical thinking. This year, his questions connecting Tripura were wonderful, covering almost all areas alongside national issues. Panikar’s warm demeanor and quick humor eased the tension among participants, allowing even first-timers to feel confident as they navigated difficult questions. He is truly one of the tallest crowd-pullers.

Abhijit Bhattacharjee, Principal of the School of Science, needs no introduction. His students are now spread across the world, and he is a respected educationist. He opened the quiz with his trademark calm authority. Bhattacharjee’s questions carried both depth and curiosity, touching upon diverse subjects—from world history to scientific breakthroughs, regional culture to global affairs.

Adding a fresh dimension to the event was Madhuja (Mahi) Debnath, the youngest quiz master on the team and a student herself. She took the stage for the rapid-fire rounds—a section that has historically been the most thrilling and audience-engaging part of the contest. Her ability to keep the momentum brisk and entertaining earned her loud applause throughout the session. Her Father Jayanta Debnath, Editor Tripurainfo.com and Mother Advocate Madhumita Bhattacharjee are virtually part of the core team organizing the Tripurainfo Mega Quiz 2025, with active support from senior journalist Shri Sekhar Datta, and others from the beginning.

A Community Gathering Rooted in Learning

Parents in attendance expressed their admiration for how the quiz masters encouraged values beyond competition—teamwork, sportsmanship, and curiosity. Many noted that the supportive comments offered by the quiz masters after each round helped students regain confidence whenever they faltered. Teachers accompanying their school teams spoke warmly of the platform that Tripurainfo.com has built over two decades, enabling young learners to showcase their knowledge in a public forum.

I had a discussion with one lady bank officer, who is extremely dedicated to providing citizens with efficient services. She was so happy when she saw her son receive a prize. For her, competition begins with the Mega Quiz. Who knows—one day the little boy might make a name for Tripura in the field he loves? This is the mindset of all parents.

Marking Two Decades of Intellectual Tradition

As the event celebrates its 20th year, organizers reflected on how the Mega Quiz has evolved from a small local competition into a widely recognized cultural fixture in Agartala. Over the years, it has introduced thousands of students to quizzing, encouraged critical thinking, and fostered a healthy academic spirit within the community.

This year’s edition carried that tradition forward, combining thoughtful planning with lively execution. The coordination between rounds, the professionalism of the quiz masters, and the enthusiastic participation all contributed to the event’s smooth flow.

By the time the final results were announced, Rabindra Bhawan felt less like a competitive arena and more like a collective celebration of knowledge.
