Five Years of Waiting, and Then a Dream Finally Came Home: Tripura Couple Conceives After Their First IVF Attempt

Some dreams take years to come true. And when they finally do, the wait itself becomes a story worth remembering.
For a 29 year old woman from Tripura and her 33 year old husband, the dream of becoming parents had remained unfulfilled for five long years.
They had been married for five years and had tried repeatedly to conceive. With every passing month came a new hope, followed by another disappointment. Slowly, the excitement of starting a family began to be replaced by questions they never had answers to.
The couple's circumstances made their journey even more difficult. The husband works with the CISF and his job often requires him to stay away from home. His wife, a homemaker, was left to manage the home while also carrying the emotional weight of their struggle to become parents.
Repeated visits to a fertility centre, long journeys and managing treatment around a demanding work schedule were not easy for them. Yet, despite everything, they continued to hold on to the hope that someday they would hear the news they had been waiting for.
Medical investigations eventually revealed that both of the woman's fallopian tubes were blocked. Her uterus also required medical attention. For the couple, IVF became the next step towards trying to fulfil their dream of parenthood.
But IVF brought its own set of questions.
Would it work? Would this finally be their chance? Or would they once again have to return home carrying the weight of another disappointment?
It was during this time that they came in contact with Dr. Gauri Agarwal, Founder and Managing Director of Seeds of Innocence IVF and HomeIVF.
The couple chose HomeIVF because it offered an approach that could fit more naturally into their circumstances. With the husband frequently away because of his CISF responsibilities and the wife managing the household, being able to receive several components of fertility care closer to home gave them a sense of comfort during an otherwise emotionally demanding journey.
Their IVF journey began with hope, but also with the fear that comes with having waited for so long.
Then came the news they had spent five years longing to hear.
The woman became pregnant after her first IVF attempt.
For someone who had spent five years waiting to become a mother, the positive pregnancy test was far more than a medical result. It was a moment that seemed to bring together every prayer, every difficult conversation and every time the couple had told themselves not to give up.
For her husband, who had spent much of his married life balancing the responsibilities of a demanding job with the dream of building a family, the news carried a special meaning too.
After years of waiting, they finally had something they could look forward to together.
Dr. Gauri Agarwal said, “Every couple's fertility journey is different. The challenges are not always medical. Distance, work, time and everyday responsibilities can also make treatment difficult. At HomeIVF, our effort has always been to make fertility care more accessible and less disruptive to a patient's everyday life while ensuring that treatment remains doctor led and clinically supervised. For this couple, this pregnancy represents not just the outcome of an IVF journey, but the beginning of a dream they had been carrying for five years.”
Today, the couple is looking forward to a new chapter in their lives.
A chapter they had once wondered if they would ever get to write.
For five years, their home carried the quietness of a dream waiting to come true. Now, that silence has been replaced by a new hope and the anticipation of a little life growing within the family.
Perhaps the most beautiful part of their story is that after five years of waiting, their dream of becoming parents finally found its way home.
Sometimes, life takes longer than we expect to give us the answer we have been waiting for.
But when that answer finally arrives, every year of waiting suddenly feels worth it.
Yashpal Singh Rao, CEO of Seeds of Innocence IVF and HomeIVF, said, “Behind every fertility journey is a deeply personal story. Our responsibility is not only to provide medical care, but also to understand the realities that patients live with. For this couple, work, distance and family responsibilities were an important part of their journey. Their experience reminds us that when medical expertise is combined with empathy and accessibility, the path to parenthood can feel a little less overwhelming.”
