Annual General Meeting of Agartala Press Club held, activities of present committee appreciated

The annual general meeting of Agartala Press Club held today in presence of all most all the senior members. The meeting was started by lighting the lamp at eleven o'clock this morning. Veteran journalist Sroto Ranjan Khisa, journalist, Arun Nath, Sanjib Deb, Samir Pal, Chitra Roy, club president Jayanta Bhattacharya, vice president Syed Sajjad Ali and others were present on the stage of the event.

Senior journalists of the state Shekhar Dutta, Jayanta Debnath, Sujit Dey, Uttam Chakraborty and a large number of photojournalists were also present. Press club secretary Ramakant Dey presented the annual report and the club's income and expenditure accounts in the meeting. Most of the club members appreciated the activities of the current committee. And expressed their opinion in favor of extending the term of this committee till next year 2027.

During the discussion at the annual meeting, the veteran members of the club, Sekhar Dutta, Samir Dhar, Samir Paul, Debashish Majumdar, Chitra Roy requested the present committee to reviewed the membership list of the club and also requested to provide membership to the genuine journalists and photo journalist who were not given membership earlier. They also requested to cancel their membership who were not genuine journalist or phot journalists.

Moreover, most of the speakers also requested to keep the press club away from politics.
